METADATA

 

The term METADATA in computing refers to pieces of information inserted in electronic files, to which one has access for an indefinite amount of time after their creation. This is information concerning the quality, the size and characteristics of a file, a photograph or perhaps a picture.
This series deals with a poetic and silent dialogue of the picture of today with the recent past of a former economic and cultural reality. A reality that left its imprints and information to teach us once again in the most realistic way a history lesson for our country. A dialogue between architecture and society.
In the above series shopping centers, situated in some of the most important central avenues of Athens, were photographed during the heart of the economic crisis. A collection of architectural portraits of commercial stores and shopping centers of yesterday, transformed in the toughness of today and through the experience of the present crisis.
